Rabbi Shimshon Silkin, currently Rov of Kehillas Beis Yisrael in Elstree, learned in Yeshivas Shaarei Torah in Manchester and the Mir Yeshiva in Yerushalayim and received his semicha at Yeshivas Haran in Ramot, Israel, as well as from Dayan Goldberg of the High Court of Jerusalem. He holds a diploma in psychology from the University of London and a degree in Rabbinic Education from the Jerusalem Leadership College. Rabbi Silkin spent several years with the Dallas Torah Institute (Dallas Kollel) as the Director of Education at their branch in Plano, Texas, during which time he co-hosted a weekly US national radio talk-show and penned a regular op-ed column for the Texas Jewish Post. Since 2009 he has been one of our senior lecturers. He is also the director of the educational project Chazon UK and also teaches Hashkafa (Jewish Philosophy) at several high schools in NW London -– a multi-tasker par excellence, but no jack of all trades – he is a master of all!
